A Mission of Care and Comfort

 

GFD Team Members have been traveling to Guatemala for Medical Mission trips for decades.  Our partnership with local, NGO Fundenor, has allowed us to provide free healthcare clinics in remote communities for the past 11 years.  

 

On a typical day,  we provide care for 200 people!  Many of them walk hours to see us.  They speak native Mayan languages so multiple translators are necessary at times.   Most diseases and illnesses are caused by contaminated water, food insecurity, malnutrition, poor sanitation, and extreme poverty.   Basic medical care is simply not available to the people we meet. 

Our Medical, Dental, and Vision Clinics Provide:

 

  • Internal, Adult Medicine

  • Pediatric Care

  • OB/GYN Care

  • Midwife Kits and Supplies. 

  • Eye Exams and Glasses

  • Dental Care and Extractions

  • Prescriptions and OTC medications 

  • Health, Nutrition, and Disease Prevention Education

  • Teaching and Supplies for Community Nurses.

We also dedicate time to playing and bonding with our youngest patients!
